Commercial uses for electric fences
Electric fences have many applications commercially from protecting business premises to commercial farming operations. They are guaranteed to keep the things you want to protect safe while repelling unwanted visitors such as intruders and marauding animals.
The fences can be as long as you need them to be and as long as you have sufficient power to feed to the fence it will remain effective, even over long distances.
Electric fences: Common uses
An electric fence creates a memorable barrier that relies more on the sharp but safe electrical shock it delivers to be an effective restraint rather than the need to be an overly strong structure. It is an affordable way to protect your property, is easy to construct and maintain and can be used effectively to contain stock, fence large areas of land or prevent access to restricted areas. The common uses for these type of fences are:
- To prevent access to commercial premises
- To contain farm animals
- To prevent predators from gaining access to livestock
- To separate pastures for cropping rotation
- To separate animal flocks
Animals and intruders learn very quickly to avoid an electrified fence as the shock it delivers is enough to deter them while not causing them any real harm.
Types of electrical fencing
There are three main types of electrical fencing and each has its own application to suit the needs of the user. The permanent fence is the best solution for long term fencing needs but the portable version is great for providing the user with flexible short term needs in regards to managing pastures, offering temporary protection to particular areas of land or to temporarily contain animals.
A permanent offset system is one that is used in conjunction with an existing fence line. When installing this system along an existing fence, offset brackets are used to keep livestock from coming into contact with the original, non-electrified fence.
Choosing electric fences
Electric fencing systems are one of the most effective ways to protect your property. They are safe, low maintenance and in most cases you can install them yourself with little effort. They are not visually intrusive either so are unlikely to clash with the look of your property.
If you want foolproof security, electric fences could just be your best option.
